The Year Waymap Went Global and What’s Coming in 2026!

Citywide deployments, new sectors like hospitals and major sports venues, rapid growth across continents, and expanding our world-class team, 2025 has been our most exciting year yet. Here’s a look at what we achieved together, and what’s ahead.

Transforming Cities and Venues Worldwide

Waymap is now Live Across America’s Capital

Waymap now covers the entire Washington DC public transport network. Our technology guides riders through 98 train stations and more than 11,000 bus stops, enabling seamless, accessible, end-to-end journeys. Delivered in partnership with the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority, this project sets a new benchmark for what citywide navigation can look like.

Expanding Across Austin, Texas

In Austin, we partnered with CapMetro to make the city more accessible for everyone. Waymap’s coverage now spans 775 million square feet, helping blind and visually impaired riders to navigate independently around the city.

The First Stadium in the World to Deploy Waymap

Lord’s Cricket Ground in London became the first global sports stadium to support Waymap. Visitors receive step-by-step navigation to seats, amenities and exits, supported by both audio and on-screen instructions. Full-journey routing from anywhere within the M25 makes the matchday experience smoother for all fans coming to the Home of Cricket.

Waymap Launches in Healthcare

The Royal Hospital for Children & Young People in Edinburgh is now the first hospital to introduce Waymap’s technology. Patients and their families are now able to create a route from their front door straight to their appointment within the hospital. Public transport data will appear live in the app, supporting real-time journey planning through Edinburgh. Our tech is making the hospital, and the city surrounding it, more accessible and inclusive.

Momentum for 2026

Our mapping and engineering teams are working hard to push Waymap live in multiple public transport systems, shopping malls and major venues around the world. Launching Waymap in new cities and venues is fast and scalable, and 2026 will bring a new wave of high-profile go-lives. Watch this space!

A Growing Team Shaping the Future

This year we welcomed 15 new team members across engineering, product, UX and operations, and opened a new office in South Africa. One of our newest joiners, Thomas, shared that he joined because Waymap builds technology “he never knew could exist but hoped would” to support people with disabilities.

We also welcomed Ed Parsons as Technical Advisor to the Board. A globally-recognised geospatial leader, Ed has shaped how millions use digital maps today. His insight strengthens every part of our mission.

Our App is Growing Too

Waymap saw 486% user growth in 2025, with momentum across three continents on both iOS and Android.

This year we passed 1 billion square feet mapped globally, enabling seamless navigation indoors, outdoors and deep underground.

Looking Ahead to 2026

Waymap 2.0 is on the horizon, bringing a new level of user experience, simplicity and accessibility to every journey. Our technology remains the same, but we’ve given our app a makeover – maintaining accessibility for visually impaired users while improving the look and feel for all. Stay tuned… Waymap 2.0 is coming very soon.

Several major venues are already locked in for Q1 2026, and yes — we’re coming home. Venues in London and cities across the UK will soon join our growing network, with more announcements to follow.

As always, your feedback fuels our improvements. If you have ideas or suggestions, we’d love to hear from you. Share feedback anytime with our team via feedback@waymapnav.com

Join the Waymap Movement

Waymap is on a social mission. Every journey a user takes with Waymap improves the algorithm and helps build a more accessible world. By using Waymap, you’re supporting blind and disabled travellers and helping create cities designed for everyone.

Waymap is the only navigation app that works indoors, outdoors and deep underground. It can support Shopping Malls, Train Stations, Hospitals, Football Stadiums and any other complex indoor environment.
